Throughout his productive career, Carl Oesterhelt has proven to be an artist who easily finds a way to move between genres and musical concepts. Much of his work has been in the realm of classical and chamber music, but he has also composed music for museum exhibitions and is sometimes on The Notwist 's team as a leading figure on the Munich scene.
At Umor Rex has been fortunate enough to publish a variety of Oesterhelt universes. In "Eleven Pieces for Synthesizer" (Umor Rex 2019) , we hear his cosmic side, where connections with Harmonia or Klaus Schulze were amalgamated with ecclesiastical organ pieces and intense semi-automatic rhythms. A deeply melodic and fresh album. A pure syntax of the modern synthesizer. Furthermore, in "The Aporias of Futurism" (Umor Rex 2021) , in collaboration with Andreas Gerth (Driftmachine, Tied & Tickled Trio), Oesterhelt showed what is perhaps his darkest side, a work full of nuances within musique concrete. and nocturnal atmospheres. As deep and cerebral as it is surprising and catatonic.
It seems that Carl Oesterhelt has another ace up his sleeve. Now he surprises with "The Dualistic Principle" , a fantastic album full of strange but charming electronic melodies, rhythms that incite the movement of the body, sometimes syncopated and abstract, others permanent and fluid. In this work, Oesterhelt invited Johan Simons to give voice to the lyrics. "The Dualistic Principle" is a kind of philosophical review or a nostalgic recollection of the glamorous years. There is also an underlying humor in this mix of space post-pop and Munich music. "The Dualistic Principle" is the soundtrack to an imaginary film of contemporary hedonism.
All music and lyrics are by Carl Oesterhelt. Voice of Johan Simons. Additional strings performed by the Ensemble für synkretische Musik. Recorded in Munich and Bochum, Germany. Mastered by John Tejada in Sherman Oaks, USA. Cover art by Daniel Castrejón in Mexico City.

Use and Care. Vinyls
A simple guide to cleaning and caring for your hard drives:
Dry Brushing: Use an anti-static brush specifically designed for vinyl records. Brush the record counterclockwise before and after each playback to remove dust and particles.
Wet Cleaning: For a deeper clean, use a cleaning solution designed for vinyl records or a mixture of distilled water and isopropyl alcohol in a 3:1 ratio. Apply the solution to a soft, clean cloth or cleaning pad and rub gently in a clockwise direction.
Proper Drying: Make sure the vinyl is completely dry before placing it in its sleeve. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to dry the vinyl or let it air dry.
Proper Storage: Store vinyl records in their original sleeves whenever possible. Store them upright in a cool, dry place, away from direct sunlight and extreme heat.
Avoid Dirty Surfaces: Make sure the surfaces where you place the vinyl decals are clean to prevent dust and dirt from accumulating.
Handle with Care: Handle vinyl records by the edges and avoid touching the playing surface. Use a stylus in good condition and ensure the turntable tonearm is properly set to prevent unnecessary wear.
Avoid Spilled Liquids: Keep liquids, such as drinks or cleaning fluids, away from your vinyl records and the turntable area.
Turntable Maintenance: Ensure the stylus is clean and in good condition. Adjust and calibrate the turntable according to the manufacturer's recommendations.
