This cotton towel boasts excellent absorbency and quick-drying properties thanks to its flat weave. Soft to the touch, the towel becomes even more luxurious and fluffy with each wash. This simple textile can be used as a table runner, sarong, bedspread, shawl, or picnic blanket. A truly multifunctional textile.
The pedal loom was introduced to Mexico by the Spanish in the 16th century, and after colonization, it became the most widely used technique in textile workshops, operated exclusively by men. Its wooden frame, with the synchronized movement of hands and feet, is used to weave primarily cotton and wool fabrics. This technique allows for faster work and the production of wider fabrics than those produced on a backstrap loom. In Mexico, the pedal loom is used in various regions, including Oaxaca, Michoacán, Zacatecas, Chiapas, and Querétaro, among others.
