The tradition of making scale-patterned candles in Mexico dates back generations and remains a highly valued art. These unique candles are the result of skills passed down from artisan to artisan over time.
The process begins by heating and melting the wax. It is then carefully poured into special molds that transfer the desired texture, creating the characteristic "flakes" on the surface of the candle. After the wax cools and solidifies, it is finally unmolded.
The tradition of scale candles lies not only in their crafting but also in their use. These candles are used in a variety of celebrations and rituals, from religious events to traditional festivities and cultural events. Their soft light and distinctive textured surface create a unique lighting effect.
